概要 |
In this study, secondary traumatic stress (STS), which is a natural consequence of working with people who have experienced extremely stressful events, was evaluated among staff members working at DV ...shelters. The purpose of the study was twofield. First, we developed a STS inventory whose subjects wcre 67 staff members at DV shelters. Second, we evaluated an association between STS score and, social support and the individual attribution. Factor analysis for the first study and analysis of variance (ANOVA) for the second analysis were performed. We got the following results. In the first factor analysis, “over idenitication” and “avoidance” were identified as the first and the second factors, respectively. In the second ANOVA, “social support”, “satisfaction with social support”, “age”, “work days”, “years of activities as a shelter staff”, and“position in the shelter”were revealed to relate to STS score. The present study demonstrated that STS dues exist among staff members at DV shelters. The study also reports findings useful in lowering the stress level of the staff members. However, further studies are necessary to verify the findings obtained in the study.続きを見る
