概要 |
Liquid-solid contact during rapid quenching of thin horizontal platinum wires in water was measured using a modified electrical conductance method in which a high-frequency square wave voltage was app...lied between the wire and a conductance probe immersed in a water bath. Along with measured heat transfer data, two phenomena that were closely connected with the liquid-solid contact were discussed. The first was the electromotive force which was found to be generated by a kind of thermoelectric effect. The measured electromotive force reached 20V at the wire temperature of around 700℃, which was much higher than the electromotive force of metals generated by the Seebeck effect. The second was the minimum-heat-flux point. The boiling curve obtained from the cooling curve had two local minimum-heat-flux points. Measurements of liquid-solid contact showed that a remarkable liquid-solid contact began at the first (higher wall superheat) minimum-heat-flux point. The heat transfer conditions at the first and the second minimum-heat-flux points were also discussed.続きを見る
