| 概要 |
The purpose of this study was to clarify the characteristics of mental health patterns which were classified based on the concept of stress and Quality of Life(QOL). 384 male and female adults who pa...rticipated in the “Health Promotion Center", carried out at the Institute of Health Science in Kyusyu University, were selected as subjects in this study. They were given a physical fitness test, a medical check and a questionnaire relating to life style, including a stress check list and a life satisfaction scale developed by the authors(1991). The stress check list consisted of 9 items while the life satisfaction scale consisted of 6 items in which each item was scored on a scale of 1 to 4 point. Based on a mean and standard deviation of each scale score for all subjects, four mental health patterns, "Hatsu-Ratsu", "Yuu-Yuu", "Huu-Huu" and "Heto-Heto", were classified, and the relationship, including some variables relating to health, was analyzed. The results of the analysis indicated that there was a significant relationship between aging and the mental health patterns (x2 =27.523. p<.01), and the rate of the “Hatsu-Ratsu pattern" increased for the aged. Regarding physical fitness, a significant relationship in the mental health patterns was found in the subjective evaluation of physical fitness for both male and female (male : F=4.792, p<.01 ; female : F=8.569, p<.01), but not in actual physical fitness level. In addition, there were many significant relationship between the mental health patterns and the variables relating to life style, and the life style of the subjects who indicated the "Hatsu-Ratsu pattern" was the best on preserving their health, but it was not good for the "Heto-Heto pattern". The results of this study suggested that the four mental health patterns, "Hatsu-Ratsu", "Yuu-Yuu", "Huu-Huu" and "Heto-Heto", were reflected in each life style.続きを見る
