概要 The purpose of this study was to observe the long-term effects of tennis training on physical fitness. 15 middled-aged women participated in the tennis course, which was held twice per week for the du...ration of three months. Various measurements with regard to physical fitness were conducted with these subjects three times: before, soon after and two years after the tennis course. The results are summarized, as follows: 1. Percent body fat (% fat) decreased significantly by 6.3% through tennis training for three months. But the % fat showed a significant increase 2 years later, compared with before and after the training, respectively. 2. Back strength decreased significantly in two years, compared with the results obtained 3 months after the tennis training. 3. Standing trunk flexion and trunk extension increased by 35.7% and 26.1%, respectively, through the 3-month training. However, both of them showed a significant decrease two years later. 4. Maximal oxygen intake (Vo2 max) increased significantly by 15.6% through the tennis training for three months. Vo2 max two years later decreased by 7.8%, compared with that after three months, but it still maintained the level before the tennis course. 5. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased significantly by 7.8% and 7.5%, respectively, through the three-month training, but they rose back to the original level in two years. These results seem to suggest that long-term tennis training has positive effects on physical fitness. However, these effects disappeared in the course of two years.続きを見る
