The present study was carried out from social psychological viewpoint to clarify the differences of gateball players between urban and rural areas concerning their personal attribute, situation of lif...e, sport activity, consciousness of sport, gateball activity and consciousness of gateball. The investigation was conducted to 448 male and 273 female senior citizens over 50 years of age including gateball players and non-gateball ones by questionnaire method at Fukuoka City as urban area and Yatsushiro City as rural one in Summer, 1983. The results were summerized as follows: 1. Both male and female, the regional differences were recognized concerning such items as educational career, years of residence, relation between living accommodation and working place in the prime of life, occupation, consciousness of leisure in the prime of life, resource of the present life, relation to the neighbors and activities of taste. However, there was no significant difference about consciousness of life. 2. Both male and female, there are more gateball players who play sport except gateball in urban area than in rural area. However, the regional difference was not admitted about sport experience in the past and consciousness of sport. 3. Concerning gateball activity, the regional differences were recognized on several items. As for male, these items were time of playing gateball, years of gateball experience, place for playing gateball, qualification of umpire, view to tournament, level of tournament and view to gateball organization. On the other hand, as for female, these were time of playing gateball, years of gateball experience, place for playing gateball, qualification of umpire, view to tournament and view to gateball rules. 4. The problems on playing gateball were not so serious in both urban and rural areas. 5. Concerning consciousness of gateball, both male and female, there were no regional differences about behavioral intension, normative belief toward family members and friends, belief toward the effect of playing gateball and attitude toward gateball. 6. Both male and female, players in urban area have a good evaluation toward the effect of gateball relatively, however, players in rural area have some troubles related to playing gateball. 社会心理学立場から,都市と農村におけるゲートボール実施者の特性,生活状況,スポーツ活動と意識,ゲートボールの実態と問題,ゲートボールの意識と評価などについて,地域差に焦点を当てて比較分析してきた。研究結果の要約をすると,以下のようになろう。1.ゲートボール実施者の特性と生活状況に関しては,男女とも最終学歴,居住年数,働き盛りの頃の居住地と職場,長く従事した職業,働き盛りの頃の余暇観,現在の生活方法,近所づきあい,各種趣味活動において,都市と農村の問では有意差がみられた。しかし,生活意識については地域差はみられなかった。2.スポーツ活動と意識に関しては,都市部の方にゲートボール以外のスポーツを実施する者が男女とも多い傾向にある。しかしながら,過去のスポーツ経験やスポーツ意識については,これといった地域差はみられなかった。3.ゲートボール活動をめぐっては,1日平均の実施時間,経験年数,実施場所,審判員資格,大会のあり方については,男女とも有意な地域差がみられた。また,出場した大会の規模,団体・組織のあり方は男子において,ルールの全国統一についての考え方は女子においてそれぞれ地域差が認められた。しかし,ゲートボールの実施程度は都市部も農村部も高く,そこに有意な差はみられなかった。4.ゲートボール実施上の問題に関しては,両地域間に大きな違いはなく,練習や審判員,リーダーなどに対する不平や不満は一部の実施者の間にみられるものの,全体として問題はそれほど深刻化してはいない。5.ゲートボール意識に関しては,両地域ともゲートボールに関する行動意図や家族及び友人の期待に対する信念,ゲートボールの効果に対する信念は高く,またゲートボールに対する態度も好意的であり,これといった地域差はみられなかった。6.ゲートボール実施による効果や変化についての評価は,両地域ともある程度得られている。しかしながら,都市部では身体面,社会面でのプラスの評価が多いのに対し,農村部ではゲートボール実施による弊害あるいは試合をめぐるトラブルがあるなどマイナスの評価が相対的に多い傾向にある。以上のとおりであるが,表16は都市部と農村部の地域差が顕著であった項目(クラマー係数 .30以上)について,その内容を示したものである。特定の項目を除けば,男女ともほぼ同様の傾向を示していることがわかる。今回の調査研究では,都市部についてはゲートボールのあり方に関して大きな問題はないようであるが,農村部についてはいくつかの弊害が実施者自身の評価を通して明らかになった。今後は,こうした弊害をなくす方向での実施者の指導・教育が重要と思われる。続きを見る
