Recently, the number of foreign people in Japan have grown rapidly. The increase in the number of Vietnamese Technical Intern Trainees especially, has been remarkable. Since the working conditions in ...Japan could be of poor quality, they cannot work and learn Japanese language with ease, for their future career. And as of religion, most Vietnamese follow Vietnamese Buddhism; it could be difficult for them to continue with their religious beliefs in Japan. From the aspect of multicultural coexistence, it is an urgent need to clarify how Vietnamese Technical Intern Trainees could have a peaceful existence, including following their religious belief. This paper aims to discuss this matter through the qualitative survey method, PAC, based on the interviews conducted among Vietnamese Technical Intern Trainees in the local Japanese language school. It concludes that Vietnamese Technical Intern Trainees can find peace in several places, such as the Japanese language school with the Japanese teachers, the time to study Japanese language for their future career, and the satisfactory relationship with Japanese coworkers. Regarding religious belief, they would try to continue their own religious life with actions such as praying in their mind, and the Buddhist beliefs seems to be an important factor that keeps them mentally stable in Japan.続きを見る
