概要 Japan has overcome the various environmental problems it has experienced since the postwar high-growth era on the basis of cooperation between the public and private sectors. As a result, Japan posses...ses various world-leading environmental pollution prevention technologies. Continued growth of the world economy is in prospect, centering on China and the wider Asia region. Having largely completed the economic take-off phase, the countries involved are on track to eventually become mature industrial societies. However, economic growth exacerbates issues concerning the environment and natural resources. Without improved environmental technology, continued growth of the economies of China and neighboring countries would disrupt the relationship among the environment, natural resources and economic growth. The disruption would have serious consequences for the global environment. Only by deploying state-of-the-art environmental technologies can China and countries elsewhere in Asia achieve economic growth without disrupting this relationship. Japan's efforts to tackle environmental issues have not always met with complete success or proceeded smoothly. Rather, progress has been achieved through a process of trial and error. It is to be hoped that China will deal with environmental issues by adopting rational approaches, learning from Japan's experience and avoiding any repetition of its errors.続きを見る
