概要 |
It is often pointed out by almost all the Japanese scholors that Yosuke MATUOKA had the idea of the Entente between Germany, Italy, the Soviet Union and Japan when Matuoka signed the tripartite pact, ...and that he thought this Entente would intimidate the United State from going into the pacific war between the U. S. and Japan. As a matter of fact, the auther has made efforts to find out primary materials which would support Matuoka's design of a four-power Entente, but in vain. In this study, based mostly on primary materials, the auther attempts at tracing 1), Matuoka's words about the Soviet Union 2), Prince Konoe really had the idea of a four-power Allians or not 3), Matuoka had the idea of posibility of the war against Moscow with Germany 4), the political difference between Japan-USSR adjustment and a fourpower Entente.
