| 概要 | The original text of this Japanese translation is "Funktionalismus Heute" written by T.W. Adorno. This text was based on his speech at a conference of "Deutscher Werkbund" at Berlin in 1965 and publis...hed in "Neue Rundschau" in 1966. This text is very famous for its strong influence on the so called 68's movement, which resulted in the closure of 'Hochschule fiir Gestaltung Ulm'. In this thesis we can see logic of dialectic between symbol and function. Adorno says if we once want to purify a function by expelling every symbolic (ornamental) element from a technological product, like Adolf Loos, so we should be captured in a forced movement to oppress mimetic aspect towards the object, which brings a sheer repetition of status quo. According to the text, we should consider the concept of fantasy, which means to open ourselves to a historically stored potentiality of material and form in an object.続きを見る |
