Flat Roof Tile of Kourokan Type 5 (Oda 1977). The width of the tiles is more than that of the Kourokan Type 1 set, and the expression of the arabesque pattern is linear and thin, with a strong sense of winding. The pearl motifs on the outer upper area are round; there are fine, saw-teeth pattern in the lower outer section. There are stepped jaw. It is a tile from the Chikuzen Kokubunji temple building from the middle of the 8th century (Takahashi 1983). Number 30 contains innumerous sand grains and has a grayish-yellow color. The note reads, “Kasadera” and the explanatory note mentions the following, “Dazaifu site section Kasadera Excavation Kasadera is small, high-lying farmland in a town southeast of Kanzeonji. According to the name Kasadera, there used to be temples before, and many celadons and white porcelain emerged. Looking at the design of antefix, it is difficult to identify the number of temples in the Nara period. More old tiles were found here than at (Chikuzen) Kokubunji and Kanzeonji”. “Corresponds to Paragraph 528 in No.4 in the "Journal of Archeology” Vol. 6 No. 9, “Regarding Old Tiles”
