鴻臚館１式軒平瓦である。瓦当の右方しか残らぬが、粘土板桶巻き作りで段顎である。胎土には大粒の砂粒を含み、暗灰褐色を呈する。「水城 下大利関門」と注記があり、水城の西門の出土である。『考古学雑誌』６巻１号「鴻臚館の所在に就て再び藤井学士の示教に答ふ」論文の４に当たる。 岩永2008（博物館報告）
Flat Roof Tile of Kourokan Type 1. Only the right hal...f of the roof tile remains, but it has vertical corded clay on the convex surface of the flat tile. It is made by the bucket molding method and has a stepped jaw. The soil contains sand grains and is light gray. There is a note saying “Fukuoka Castle.” It is a collection from the inside Fukuoka castle, and the accompanying explanation reads, “Results of theoretical research into historical geography indicated that Heiwadai itself is the Kourokan site; and studying that place to find support for this assumption, some old tiles wasdiscovered just there on the day of “Dontaku”that is a festival in Fukuoka in 1915.
