Abstract The ruficornis species group of genus Nomada in Japan is taxonomically revised. Thirty species are recognized, including two new species and one species newly recorded from Japan. Thirty-two species a...nd two subspecies are synonymized. In comparison with the faunas of European countries, the fauna of the Japanese Nomada is moderate in terms of the number of species, and is characterized by (1) a rich roberjeotiana species group, and (2) the absence of the integra and superba species groups, which are distributed widely in the Palearctic region.show more
