| 概要 |
The stable fly, Stomoxys calcitrans (Diptera: Muscidae), is a blood-feeding pest of livestock worldwide. We compared 6 colors of adhesive-coated corrugated plastic traps at 2 dairy farms in southern J...apan to evaluate stable fly catches and selectivity. Five replicate blocks, each containing all 6 colors, were deployed at each farm for 3 d. Responses included stable fly catches, selectivity defined as the proportion of stable flies among all captured insects, and the order-level Shannon–Wiener diversity index. In mixed models accounting for farm and replicate block, blue, yellow, and white traps captured significantly more stable flies than black-and-white, red, and black traps. Estimated catches did not differ significantly among blue, yellow, and white traps. The estimated stable fly proportion was highest on blue traps, followed by white traps; both exceeded those on the other 4 colors. Blue traps had lower order-level diversity than yellow and white traps. Together, these results indicate that blue traps showed a favorable balance between capture efficiency and reduced non-target bycatch.続きを見る
