This paper deals with kanjo (separation and transference of the deity) of Ise Jingu Shrine and the accompanying imitation of the form and style of the shrine buildings. Since the 15th century, Ise Jin...gu Shrine has appealed for the restrictions on the kanjo and the imitation of the shrine buildings. In the 17th century, an understanding of the architectural style of Shinmei-zukuri based on the Ise Jingu shrine was established, and Shinmei-zukuri shrines were built in various places throughout the Edo period. It is unclear what the imitation of the shrine building was like in the Middle Ages, but the spread of the understanding of Shinmei-zukuri in the Edo period may have had the effect of standardizing the method of imitation.続きを見る
