This study aims to elucidate the role of staff in“Kokorito,”known as “ibasho-katsudo,” by examining how the staff members engage in daily activities with the service’s users. The results indicate that the staff’s primary responsibility is establishing a physically and psychologically safe and secure user environment. Simultaneously, staff members transition into the role of “members”to create an atmosphere that encourages users to comfortably open up to others psychologically. These two roles lead to the establishment of diagonal dyadic “Naname” relationships, fostering an attitude of acceptance with a neutral posi-tion among staff members. However, this ambitious role and somewhat unstable structure can sometimes lead to “yure” (con-fusion), as staff members grapple with concerns about their limited practical experience. Reflecting on their experiences with a proficient facility supervisor is one method for continuously exploring new insights for activities and navigating the role tr-ansitions. In the future, staff members will operate more effectively by embracing various perspectives.
