Abstract This article analyzed the role of leisure in the community planning. It presented a case study of the extraordinary community of HUIS TEN BOSCH in Sasebo City. HUIS TEN BOSCH is leisure industries, ...but it plans that guest enter for free to 2007 and will be true town. HUIS TEN BOSCH has a great economic influence on Sasebo City. But accepted by community residents is more significant than economic influence. It is important to consider community planning through community resident's attitude toward it. Community residents was classified into two groups. It called each groups attached ¥ cooperative group (group1) and evading participation ・ lacking sense of common bonds group (group2). Either group didn' t actively participate in community movement. Group1 recognized that HUIS TEN BOSCH had various influences on economy, population, community atmosphere and so on. ON the contrary, group2 recognized only its economic influence, they lacked of its understanding. But either group thought that HUIS TEN BOSCH would be essential to the future community. For the reason, HUIS TEN BOSCH may be able to have influence on community movement.show more
