Abstract |
The aim of the current study was to provide information to help enhance support for workplace adaptation as part of the employment of persons with disabilities. A single case analysis was performed in... order to understand the experiences of persons with mental disorders without compromising their individuality. Results indicated that three providers of social support in this case provided instrumental support based on socioemotional support. This approach to providing support increased psychological safety and promoted problem-solving behavior in the workplace. In addition, working conditions that allowed workers to accumulate experience giving and receiving social support resulted in improved vocational and social skills as well as inner growth. Moreover, results suggested that the provision of support created a virtuous cycle of corporate management.show more
