Abstract |
The effects of surface roughness and waviness on local and mean thermal contact resistance are studied experimentally and theoretically. Six pairs of brass specimens with various roughness and wavines...s are tested and the mean thermal contact resistances are evaluated for nominal contact pressure of 0.08~1.67MPa. Taking account of the radial distribution of thermal contact resistance, two-dimensional cylindrical heat conduction equation is solved numerically to simulate the corresponding experiments. Comparing with the experimental and numerical results, a measuring method of the mean thermal contact resistance is also discussed.show more
