概要 We conducted recycled feeding study for a sustainable society of agriculture and applied to environmental education. Recycled feed was prepared from food wastes (i.e. bean sprouts, whey, and Lactobaci...llus) in the southern Hokkaido area. The results of the pH, numbers of microbes (Escherichia coli, Lactobacillus plantarum, and yeast), weights of feeding pigs, and DNA analysis using rep-PCR method indicated that the recycled fermented feedings were effective and safe for pig rearing process. Educational activities that contain two seminars in July (15 students) and December (18 students), an experiment practical training of recycled feeding at August (4 students) and sensory studies of recycled feeding pigs at December in 2012 were conducted at Hokkaido Ohno Agricultural High School and Hokkaido University of Education, Hakodate. These activities aimed to survey of awareness changes for a sustainable society and environment, motivation of learning, and prospects for the future. Questionnaire surveys were conducted each activity. In addition, we collaboratively carried out feeding pigs, sampling feces for intestinal flora, and cleaning pigsty with high school students and university students from August to October. As a result, a significant difference was detected in the questionnaire 10 “Understand about recycling wastes to fermented feeding” on the change in environmental awareness. In addition, positive changes were detected in the five items in the motivation to learn: item 1 “Feel happy to study various things”, environmental item 6 “Interested in environmental issues”, item 10 “Circular livestock production is important”, and in the prospects for the future: item 12 “Want to work in agriculture in the future”, and item 14 “Talk with friends about career paths”. These results suggest that educational activities using recycled feeding research would be effective and positive for improving motivation for learning, awareness of environmental issues, and future prospects. As a next step, further analysis of these educational practice studies using recycled feedings is expected to provide feedback for more effective education.続きを見る
