Abstract | This study aimed to clarify the current conditions surrounding Japanese language teachers and the awareness of teacher training among Vietnamese teachers of Japanese Language. A semi-structured inter...view was conducted with seven teachers, and the results analyzed using M-GTA. This resulted in the generation of 21 concepts that were divided into 4 categories: ① the environment surrounding teachers, ②the development of one’s own career, ③ the environment surrounding students, and ④ training of Japanese language teachers. With the rapid increase in the number of Japanese language students, teachers are encountering problems such as serving concurrently in multiple institutions, being overloaded with work, the diverging learning style of teachers and students, etc. We found that in career development, teachers have anxiety, feel uneasy, and may even be demotivated or struggle with their teaching. On the other hand, students are learning Japanese with the aim of finding a job in a company; however, there is a gap between the students and the teachers. Furthermore, the findings showed that although teachers desired training, the condition were not conducive to adequate training. We have discussed specifically the conditions surrounding teachers and their awareness of training.show more |
