| Abstract |
This study constructed a “worry trait scale” indicating the characteristics of worry, then examined the relationship between worry traits and depression by administering the scale among university stu...dents, technical students, and workers（n = 193）. Designed similar to the Japanese version of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale（CES D） measuring depression severity, the worry trait scale focused on three factors: rumination, introspective thinking, and catastrophizing. Analysis of the 193 completed scales indicated that rumination and catastrophizing were related to depression, but introspective thinking was not. The results indicate that rumination and catastrophizing of worry affect the feeling state or are affected by the feeling state. On the other hand, introspective thinking is possible regardless of the feeling state as depression, and also introspective thinking does not affect depression.show more
