| Abstract | Investigations on the drilling cores from the southern-most part of the Kitano Plain demonstrate that the subsurface pre-Quaternary sediments are recognized in great depth. In this paper, the correlat...ion of the sediments to the younger Pliocene Kurume formation is presumably made, and a reference to the crustal movement of the area is also given. Finally an inference is added that the Chikugo River has scarecely changed its course since the younger Pliocene age and the newly found Neogene formation was formed as a delta advanced by the Chikugo River of that time.show more |
