| Abstract |
Forty-nine samples from the shallow sea (Fig. 1) off the Itoshima Peninsula, about 15 km northwest of the City of Fukuoka, have been examined. The results of the mechanical analysis of them show that ...the bottom is occupied mainly by coarse- to medium-grained sands, without muddy sediments. The sandy sediments are well sorted and relatively rounded. Small exposures of rocky basement are found in some places.show more
