Abstract |
Academic records of Professor Ryuzo TORIYAMA are concisely described on the occasion of his retirement on October 10th, 1973 from Kyushu University. For about thirty-five years Dr. TORIYAMA has devote...d himself to the study of fusulinacean fossils from Japan and other areas of eastern Asia. The outstanding contributions among others are the systematic descriptions of fusulinaceans from the Akiyoshi Limestone of southwest Japan, that of the same group from Thailand (with other coworkers) and the zonation of the Carboniferous and Permian of the same regions. Professor ToRIYAMA took fine leadership in the long-term oversea collaborative research project in the palaeontology of Southeast Asia and distinguished editorship in the serial publication of the Geology and Palaeontology of Southeast Asia, vols. 1-15.show more
