概要 Variation of rock facies in the Higashi-Akaishi-yama ultramafic mass, Shikoku, southwest Japan were re-examined. The mass is stratified, composed of massive dunite with rhythmic layerings of chromitit...e in the lower and middle, and the layerings of clino-pyroxenites and dunites and chromitites or peridotites accompanied in places of thin layers or lenticular masses of clino-pyroxene garnet rock (eclogite) in the upper and or marginal part of the mass. The lower marginal part of the mass is generally schistose and serpentinized. The layerings of clino-pyroxenite and dunite or peridotite in the upper part of the mass grade to the layerings of amphibole pyroxenite, amphibole peridotite, garnet amphibolite or epidote amphibolite, the members of the Iratsu amphibolite mass (or epidote amphibolite mass) in the north. A possibility is suggested that the Iratsu amphibolite mass and the Higashi-Akaishi-yama ultramafic mass are complementary to each other, and are formed by cumulative separation of the crystals in the fractional crystallization of the gabbroic magmas. Partition coefficients ^Fe^2+-Mg_Ga-cpx are 7. 51-7. 83 in the eclogites and the estimated temperature of formation of the rocks is about 600°C. Some petrographic characteristics of the ultramafic mass concordant to the surrounding basic and pelitic metamorphic rocks of the epidote amphibolite facies including Iratsu amphibolite mass suggest the multi-stage history in their formation.続きを見る
