概要 The term "kyowa", or joint talk, was created cy Mizutani (1988) in contrast to English conversation style "Taiwa (dialogue)". It was defined as the conversational style where sentences are constructed... in cooperation by participants. The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of "kyowa" by analyzing Japanese TV talk shows. In this paper I classify "kyowa" in four types: "Overlap", "Completion", "Paraphrase" and "Supplement", then analyze the factors that contribute to the sharing of information and investigate how interpersonal relations influence the "kyowa". Through a quantitative as well as quantitative analysis of the data I have reached the following conclusions: (1) When the information is shared by all the participants of conversation, "kyowa" is organized by the highest frequency; (2) Comparing with the other two tapes, "Overlap" and "Completion" are less influenced by interpersonal relations so they can used more disorderly, while, the other two types, "Completion" and "Supplement", are more frequently used by people of the same age and have an effect on the development of cooperation and solidarity; (3) Participating in "kyowa" as a listener one is able to take a viewpoint the same as the speaker whilst also making responses positively from one's own viewpoint as well.続きを見る
