ソ連末期における民族自治領域創設運動の比較研究 : ガガウズ人地区、沿ドニエストル地区、リトアニア・ポーランド人地区を事例として

| 概要 | From the viewpoint of comparative area studies, this paper verifies the problems of constructing new autonomous regions at the end of the Soviet era. The autonomous movements which occurred in the Sov...iet sphere had similarities in the initial stage of each case. But at the subsequent phases each movement developed into the following different ways: first way was the one which resulted in armed conflict, second way was the one which almost resulted in armed conflict and third way was the one which resulted without armed conflict. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reasons why particular cases could not avoid an armed-conflict scenario. To serve as examples it will list the three cases as follow: the Pridnester autonomous movement, which did eventually result in armed conflict; the Gagauz autonomous movement, a case which almost resulted in armed conflict and the Polish-Lithuanian autonomous movement, which resulted without armed conflict. After reviewing previous researches, the analysis of this paper is based on two core assumption. Firstly, will assumes autonomous movements by non-official ethnic groups would gain greater independence than expected? In order to analyze these non-official ethnic groups, one must look into the trans-national border areas. Such as the Polish-Lithuanian, there are Polish-speaking groups reside not only in neighboring Poland, but in the bordering lands of Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania. Likewise, Gagauz and the Slavic-speaking groups are found in the borderland between Moldova and Ukraine. To understand independent factors of these autonomous movements, it is more effective to explore the relationship of ethnic "compatriots" beyond border. Secondly this paper assumes that the difficulty of resolving conflicts was already extant in the initial phases of organization of autonomous movements.
