Abstract In order to analyze the U.S. Department of States' postwar security, I focused on the Subcommittee on Security Problems, which is one of subcommittees subject to Advisory Committee on Post-War Foreign... Policy. The Subcommittee drafted the two important documents: first one was a draft on the "Declaration of Four Nations on General Security," and second one was "Draft Constitution of International Organization" by in August, 1943. In the process of the drafting the documents, the Subcommittee rejected the use of phrase' disarmaments,' 'International forces,' and 'base.' It suggested the use of phrase: 'regulation of armaments,' 'national contingents,' and 'facilities' instead. Consequently, the suggested phrases were reflected in Charter of the United Nations. Therefore, in conclusion, the U.S. Department of States was concerned with postwar collective security, yet it avoided following the postwar international organization.show more
