| Abstract | This paper examines the relationship between social tendencies and the mass media concerning the status surrounding marriages and singles, through a comparison with the index of reality. For this task..., popular magazines were chosen, and a quantitative analysis of "Marriages" and "Singles" as they appeared in the titles of the articles from 1947 to 2000 was carried out. Articles from the magazine index register of Oya Soichi were used for this investigation. In comparison to the marriage rate, titles with the word marriage showed an increasingly rapid decrease. Secondly, in comparison to the economic growth rate, it can be said that the "total rate" of both titles showed a sudden change where economic growth rate descends.show more |
