| Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to consider gender politics in the theatre in regard to thespectators as critics. I refer to the gender politics as follows: First is the politics of Mencentrismand second... is the politics of hidden race and/or sexuailty under the category of "woman". These are both sides of the gender politics and are inseparable from each other, but often some feministsargue that these are different from each other because race and/or sexuality disrupts thecategory of "woman". In this paper, in order to make clear gender politics, I regard race and/orsexuality not as subcategories but as important political elements, the same as gender. To thisend I especially focus on lesbian theater. As it turned out, these considerations give new perspectiveto the arguments of gender.show more |
