Abstract In the fall of 2017, Saga Women’s Junior College was selected to receive the Ministry of Education’s “Private University Research Branding Project” grant. It was targeted for the research that is not ...only limited to the academic aspects of individual researchers, but also is sublimated into a systematic initiative of the institution in order to transmit its own appeal and uniqueness for the future prospects. Instead of the conventional individual research projects, the grant was aimed to support for the initiatives related to university-wide “branding” through research conducted under the leadership of the President. Saga Women’s Junior College was the only institution that was selected for the research specializing in Korean culture. As a result, the college has established the Research Center for Contemporary Korean Culture, which serves as a base for Korean culture research and exchange of all junior colleges in northern Kyushu area.
