| 概要 | The aim of this paper is to elucidate the functional differences between the subject particles "Ga" and "Wa" which appear in the verbal predicates, especially from the point of view of the semantic fe...a-tures of the main verbs in the predicates where "Ga" or "Wa" appears. The results of this research are indicated below. i) The features of the main verbs in the verbal predicates where "Ga" appears are as follows: Most of the verbs in question are intransitive, whose subject is inanimate. Many of the verbs in question signify, in some sense, the "appearance," "disappearance" and "existence" of the referents expressed by the subjects. This suggests that the subject particle "Ga" tends to occur with verbs that denote the perception of the speaker. In other words, verbs which appear with the subject particle "Ga" denote, in some sense, that the speaker affirms that she has perceived the existence (or non existence) of the object in question. ii) The features of the main verbs in the verbal predicates where "W a" appears are as follows: Many of the verbs in question are transitive verbs. It is difficult to find semantic features common to the main verbs which appear in the ver-bal predicates where "W a" appears. Most of the referents expressed by the subjects are contextually given. In most of the cases, the predicate in question refers to the property or temporal state of the referent expressed by the subject.続きを見る |
