| 概要 | The Records of War in Ishigakibaru is a record which illustrates the battle that had taken place in Ishigakibaru in September, 1600. This was a battle between Kuroda Josui, who took sides with the Eas...tern army (Tokugawa side), and Otomo Yoshimune, who took sides with the Western army (Isida side). In the same time, the Uesugi army (Isida side) Naoe Kanetugu led the battle against the Mogami army (Tokugawa side) in Hasedo castle. It is called "Sekigahara in the Tohoku district". In relation to this, the war in Ishigakibaru is called "Sekigahara in the Kyushu district". The modern war tales such as "The Records of War in Ishigakibaru" have not been considered valuable either by historian or litterateur. Therefore, research on this war tale is yet to be done. These war tales, however, suggest that Josui and other samurais had character. In such an aspect, the readers of "The Records of war in Ishigakibaru" may find this record not only as a war tale but also as a biography. The admiration for Josui and Kuroda family is one of the distinctive characters that this war tale Also, the description of Josui is worthy of note. Josui's joy, anger, sadness and pleasure had been directly written down. It makes this war tale more valuable. In fact, a single combat of Inoue Yukifusa (karo of Kuroda family) and Yoshihiro Muneyuki (karo of Otomo family) is typical of war tales. The brotherly love of Ono Kanzaemon (older) and Ono Kyuya (younger) is also commonly found in war tales. The former one is based on historical facts, but the latter one is based on fictional elements. I assume that the writer created these elements on purpose to give more value to literature. For this reason he added work of art to this record. Unfortunately, the writer and the written date of this war tale have not been identified. However, the fact that we are able to know what the modern people, or 'edobito' thought is very important.続きを見る |
