Using nutrient supply data for 49 countries of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) from 1993 to 2018, we examine whether the food supply and diversity converge across the 49 countries. The results confirm the existence of convergence in the food supply and diversity in BRI countries. In addition, the convergence speeds in countries in different regions are different. The convergence speed in Maritime Silk Road countries (0.4–1.6 percent) is lower than that in Land Silk Road countries (0.8–2.1 percent). The convergence speeds of calories and protein are the highest in Central Asia, East Asia and North Asia, at 1.5 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively. The convergence speeds of fat and diversity are the highest in South Asia, at 2.0 percent and 1.2 percent, respectively. The low convergence speeds suggest that measures should be taken to improve the nutrient supply and diversity in BRI countries.
