Abstract | This paper firsThis paper introduces our three approaches to reduce the burden of human mteract1ve EC operators: (l)improvement of the interface of presenting individuals, (2)improvement of the interf...ace of inputting fitness values, and (3)fast EC convergence. We propose methods to display individuals in order of predicted fitness values by neural networks or Euclidean distance・measure for (1), to input quantized fitness values for (2), and to make a new elite by approximating the EC seach space with a quadratic function for (3). They are evaluated through simulations and subjective tests, and their effects have shown.t states the interactive evolutionary computation (interactive EC) have been applied to an artistic field and overviews some of these applications. Then, we emphasize wide applicability of this technique, especially high applicability to engineering field. This paper introduces concrete applications of the interactive EC that are conducted at our laboratory. They are the 3-D CG lighting design support system as an artistic application and distorted speech processing, hearing aid, media database retrieval, virtual reality, and active noise control as engineering applicationsshow more |
