A Study on Pattern Classfication of Health and Life Style as the Related Elements

Abstract The present study was carried out to classify the degree of health and to analyze the elements in life styles determining health patterns, especially from sociological aspects. The survey was conducte...d to 887 male and 893 female adults by questionnaire method. The non-hierachical cluster analysis was applied to the data, from which following results were obtained : 1) Five clusters were extracted on health, and the relationship of each clusters with the elements in life styles were examined. First cluster (assidous type) was very high level in social and mental health, but not high in physical health, and it had strong concerns on health and considerably good social conditions. Second cluster (irritated type) was high level in physical health, but the lowest level in social and mental health, and it was very bad in concerns on health, life activities and life conditions. Third cluster (1ively type) was the highest level in health, life conditions, sport involvements and those volitions. Fourth cluster (waver type) was the lowest level in physical and mental health, and in all behaviors, volitions and conditions. In addition, fifth cluster (free type) was high level in health and life conditions, but it had not so strong concerns on health and life problems. 2) The relationship between health patterns and elements to them were analyzed. Consequently, people who were in good health states were higher level in social conditions, past and present sport involvements, social involvements and those volitions.show more
