| 概要 | This report was written with the purpose of introducing to the public the paintings of Korean Women forced to work: as sexual slaves for the Japanese Military at the time of the war. HARUMONI, recorde...d their feelings in the history and reported the fact that they were able to heal their traumas with art. These women came forward and confessed to the authority in Japan that were forced by the Japanese government to serve as Military Sexual Slaves during the war time. Reaching the age of 70's or 80's and seeking for an apology from the Japanese government, they are about to come to the end of their lives without achieving their goals. There were many persons who became mentally ill, killed themselves or died of illnesses at the slavery house. Those who still continue to ask: for an apology from the Japanese Government may be considered as spiritual survivors of this atrocity. However, time is short for them due to their old age. From the paintings of these women I can strongly feel the anger and grief experienced by them, these paintings were done in order to regain their dignity which was affronted and discarded even by Korean society which over emphasizes private morality. In response to their urgent voices I hope that a conscientious apology from the Japanese Government will be delivered in the earliest opportunity to these women who were forced to work: at the slavery house against their will in the context of history.続きを見る |
