Abstract The purpose of this study is the making of a concept to explain inter-organizational relations between a nursing school and a hospital for clinical practice. Furthermore, I did qualitative analysis of... a case of a link between a nursing school and a hospital.Contents of the analysis are the actual conditions of a link and studies of the promotion of a link or obstructive factors. Through researching a preceding study, “common problems", “links", “reliability between the two organizations", and“mutual profits, "were concepts extracted. The interviews with “Director of G hospital nursing", “head of the nursing instruction department of D, "and the clinical training coordinator, were analyzed and interpreted. As a result, these four concepts enabled us to extract a relationship between the organizations, and it was recognized that these could be used as an analysis index of a link. One point extracted from the research was that “mutual profit" was rated highly. A key concept to developing a link is to guarantee profit. The nursing director of G hospital was doing a project which tried to develop excellent human resources for the benefit of the partnership, but the results were not provided. However, the results of staff growth and the development of the organization were provided. It was shown that a link with a nursing school contributed to in-service training. Moreover, the following things became clear in order to plan “reliability between organizations".Do not depend on a personal network and transmission of a role.Clarify the range of a role and responsibility of a teacher and a practical training leader in a document based on a contractual relationship.Collaborate and “develop a relationships". Furthermore, three fields are necessary for nursing schools and a hospitals to form a link. They are the human relations field, the field of management, and the technical field. It is necessary to make clear the leadership of a leader and the coordination person, and, in addition, to make clear the role and the methods that a coordination person uses.show more
