| 概要 | A Japanese book entitled “Study Manual for University Students: Welcome to Owl University" [Nakajima, Y. and Ueda, K. (2006). Nakanishiya.] was recently published. This book offers university students..., including professors, a piece of advice on what they should be doing. Students are encouraged to think over the value of freedom in their university life. Faculty members are prompted to develop their own global viewpoints concerning the situation in which universities stand. In the present article, the philosophical background of the book, including the idea that Japanese universities should be assessed in accordance with an international standard, and the contents of the book are outlined. Finally, a possible way to guide promising young students is proposed.続きを見る |
