Abstract |
The author has developed a new method of the lesson study named "Lesson Analysis by Children" to interpret the facts of a lesson from various angles. Teachers and academic researchers have been tradit...ionally involved in Lesson Analysis. However, in other words, Lesson Analysis could be closed within them. Therefore, the author hit upon an idea that new participants might bring clues to improve the classroom lessons and construct academic theories of education. The author selects children attending a lesson as new participants in Lesson Analysis. That is "Lesson Analysis by Children". The goals of this study are to review activities in Japan based on the theory of children's participation in schools, conduct Lesson Analysis by Children twice, analyze appearances of children's participation in the two cases, and consider how children take part in Lesson Analysis. As a result, in the Lesson Analysis by Children, it was appreciated that the children interpreted and analyzed the facts of the lesson from various angles, reflected their lesson, and were conscious of their improvements in the next lessons. The children could not only consider for the ways to express their idea and conduct their discussion in the lesson, but also reflect the relationship with their classmates. Therefore, the Lesson Analysis by Children leads the children to participate in a lesson independently.show more
