| Abstract |
This paper aims to clarify the current status of the modernization of housings in modem farm villages of the People's Republic of China, through the comparative study of housings in the different clim...ate zones, the cold zone and the hot-summer/cold-winter zone. Both zones are representative of Chinese climates. The population of China is concentrated on there, and both zones are also economical-developed area of China. This paper investigates modem farm houses, discusses the typology of houses based on the analysis of modernization process through the difference of the climate. In conclusion, the modernization of housings is influenced by the difference of the climate. The differences of climate conditions of summer have influence on purchase time and diffusion rate of home electric appliances. The appliances related with comfort of indoor thermal environment, like electric fans and ceiling fans, spread faster than the appliances related with housekeeping, like washing machines and refrigerators, in the hot-summer/ cold-winter zone.show more
