概要 |
The so-called S(erial) V(erb) C(onstruction) in Korean has been controversial with respect to the locus in which it is formed. Some argue for the syntactic derivation of the SVC, while others for the ...lexical derivation. In this article, we reinforce the lexical derivation by adding some facts described by Y. Choi (2008), who has observed a set of facts supporting the lexical derivation. It is well-known that the SVC can be divided by delimiters, which seems to violate some versions of Lexical Integrity. This fact has been taken as a supporting fact for the syntactic derivation. We account for this fact by paying attention to the inflectional form of V1. The form of V1 has V/SIS value in the sense of Sells (1995), which co-occurs only with verbal projections. Since the sequence of V1-e+V2 is a well-formed syntactic construct, the constituents of the SVC are licensed without fusing into a morphologically single word.続きを見る
