Abstract In the 21st century, the theory of second language acquisition showed a shift to learning through the execution of tasks with emphasis on meaning, and many new teaching methods were also proposed. Wit...h the publication of“ Foreign Languages and Linguistics Literacy Mass National Standard” in China in April 2018, there have been many reforms in foreign language majors at universities from the establishment of courses to the goal of developing foreign language human resources. In the Japanese language major, the class called "Japanese Listening" was changed to "Japanese Listening and Speaking", and was changed from fostering a single "listening" ability to fostering a "listening and speaking" ability. This paper analyzes the intermediate-level Japanese listening textbooks published in China to clarify the features and problems of the listening textbooks currently used in Chinese universities. As such, the purpose is to present the most suitable textbook for "Japanese Listening and Speaking" from now on.show more
