Abstract This article focused on support activities for interpersonal service professionals by a clinical psychologist at the “Mental Health Support Room” in the medical institution. Besides providing counsell...ing for them, the clinical psychologist consulted with managers who supported them, and also carried out psychoeducation trainings for the construction of a support system at the workplace. It was considered that consultations by a clinical psychologist facilitates adaptation to the workplace by utilizing the characteristics and strengths of the interpersonal service professionals and by preventing resignations. Further, during this process, it was necessary that the clinical psychologist took a role to speak for their worries or anxieties, and to assist them in developing a better understanding of the workplace. Moreover, cooperating with an industrial physician was essential to facilitate the leaving from or returning to work, and it was also an important role for the clinical psychologist to connect them with an industrial physician. On the other hand, it was an important issue for the clinical psychologist to consider the feedback of the analysis result of questionnaire survey.show more
