Abstract Social psychologists have been interested in the effects of environmental stimuli on social judgments, behaviors, and motivation. Traditional explanation of social priming (SP) was that priming phenom...ena are the outcomes of environments. Recent models propose, however, that its effects are the results of active interpretation (Fujita & Trope, 2014). In this article, we provide a brief history of social priming research and explain the different types of social priming effects. In addition, we review current models for mechanisms of social priming effects. We also attempt to integrate the two most parsimonious and comprehensive models (ROAR and SIM) among five models.show more
