This paper selects Guanqiao village in Ningxia province as the representative of the Hui settlement. The study is aimed at clarifying the changing process of folk houses from 1960 to the present. ① Ac...cording to the structure of the roofs and the construction methods, the houses can be divided into four categories. With the development of economy and construction technology, the scale of houses has been gradually enlarged and the decoration has become more and more magnificent. ② In traditional houses, the biggest bedroom is also the place to entertain the guest. Although the living rooms began to be built in 1990, but it is rarely be used. Recently, people began to built bedroom next to the living room that can be considered as an inherit of the tradition.show more
