Abstract | This paper focuses on the process by which “music of ours” is created and aims to clarify what their meaning of music practice has. First, I organized Small’s “Musicking” and Nakamura’s “Retelling” th...at caused it to critically appear. Then, I examine how the music practice of the drum group B team expands. In the music practice by the B team, the relationship with the sound changes, the music practice involving the audience was created, by the improvised change in the style of play. The music practice that could be said as “music of ours” was created by “Retelling” involving the audience. Also, the audience is playing an important role there. The audience in the B team’s music practice was not a passive entity but actively participated in music. “Music of ours” in the B team is a newly acquired style to make the audience active. And “music of music of ours” was approved by “Retelling” with the audience. For them the audience is an integral part of music practice. And the “music of ours” born of that “Retelling” turns into a driving force for the next music practice, which leads to further motivation to explore “music of ours”.show more |
