Abstract The purpose of this study was to clarify the communication contents that lead to college students’ understanding of the parent-child relationship. I proposed three research questions that were investi...gated by conducting two role-playing sessions. The purpose of the sessions was to promote the awareness of being a parent. The two role-playing sessions consisted of the following themes: parent-child relationship in adolescence and childhood parent-child relationship. Throughout the two sessions, the students had different experiences. Through examination of the three questions, I found that the students understood their parent-child relationships through the role-playing experience of adolescence. On the other hand, the students understood the difficulties of the parents’ role through the role-playing experience of school-age children.show more
