Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to clarify the issue of childcare support in clinical psychology by reviewing previous research. First, we identified the need to provide “ibasho” for the mother in her c...ommunity, for example through a childcare group, in order to prevent them from isolation. Second, we examined the quality of the mother’s “ibasho” by studying the functioning of Childcare Groups. It is suggested that participation in childcare groups is good for reducing mothers’ child-rearing anxiety. Thus, there is a need to examine mothers’ participation in childcare groups, focusing on their“ibasho” and level of group participation, in order to understand mother’s experiences and to identify their needs for childcare support. In future, we aim to build a system for the provision of community-based clinical psychology support in childcare using the knowledge from previous research and the practice of childcare.show more
