| Abstract |
This paper reviewed research approaches that examined the interaction of a problem-solver and the context in problem solving for ill-defined problems. After this review, this paper also discussed ques...tions for future research from the viewpoint of research approach. Consequently, I suggest that the problem-solver’s context plays a role in facilitating problem solving and in defining the problem structure of ill-defined problems. Future research should (a) identify the context in detail, and (b) accumulate experimental evidence. Insights from such studies would contribute to understanding human problem solving in the real world.show more
